As South Africa’s former president Nelson Mandela celebrates his 94th birthday well wishes pour in from all over the world. President Zuma has joined millions of people in wishing his presidential predecessor a happy birthday.
Zuma praised Mandela for his contribution to South Africa and ensured that ANC will continue to fight poverty, inequality and unemployment. Zuma has also encouraged people to follow Mandela’s footsteps and make South Africa a better place.
Zuma said: “We hope that all those that share these ideals will contribute to the process that we began in Kliptown in honour of Madiba. We urge all our people to also personally contribute by doing good deeds as called upon by Madiba to make our country and the world a better place for all. Happy Birthday Madiba.”
Mandela will be spending the day with family and friends at his rural home in Qunu in Eastern Cape of South Africa.
