Result declared in flawed Nigeria state poll

The incumbent governor of Nigeria’s southeastern Anambra state was on Sunday declared the winner of a governorship election which voters, candidates and observers said had been marred by widespread irregularities.

“Peter Obi of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), having satisfied all requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner,” chief electoral officer Josiah Uwazuronye announced at the electoral commission headquarters in the state capital Awka.

The issue of credible election is applaudable. But the most important issue, is ensuring that the victory in polls is for the service to the populace whom this winning is actually meant for. We must not forget that “a man born without service from him is a specimen of futility to humnanity”. I embrace this victory with a high sense of reasoning in serving ” Home 4 All” the Anambrarians. Long Live the FRN,Ndi Igbo, Anambrarians, Elected Gov and all who wish the state well. God Bless U all.
